For Anja, the mountains started as the odd weekend and became a real love. A rock-climbing course pulled her further in, and now she heads off with friends for climbing and bouldering days and weekend trips. She'll tell you she's a sunset person, although a promise of coffee will get her up for a sunrise. Her confession: she still hasn't stood on top of Triglav, so her "proper Slovenian" credentials are on hold.

Hi, I'm Anja. Here's how Albania Hiking Tours came about.
Most good stories start small, and ours does too: it started with a handful of young hikers who would always rather be on a ridge than anywhere else.
You'll probably meet me first. I'm the one answering your emails and joining your video calls to help you choose a route, but I'm just your first point of contact.
Behind me works a whole team of hikers, trip planners and route designers, people who have walked the kind of trails we book for you.
From Our Home Mountains to the Albanian Alps
We're based in Slovenia, with the Julian Alps practically at the office door, so showing visitors our own mountains came naturally. Showing them the rest of the world came a little later.
What began as a small side project kept growing. Every season brought more hikers, and the team grew with them: destination specialists, trail planners, route designers and the support crew you hear from while you walk.
Our trips spread beyond Slovenia, then across Europe, and in time as far as Asia and the Americas. At some point it made sense to gather them all under one roof, and Hiking Tours became that roof: one umbrella for our best-rated adventures worldwide.
Albania first came onto our map through the Peaks of the Balkans, the trail that joins the Albanian Alps to Montenegro and Kosovo. The further we went into its valleys, the clearer it became that the country needed a home of its own. Albania Hiking Tours brings the Alps, the border trails and the coast together in one place, from the Accursed Mountains to the Ionian shore below Llogara.
